Diplomatic relations between Morocco and Germany are in good shape. Evidenced by a new session of negotiations on development cooperation that the two parties held this week in Berlin.

Morocco has embarked on a vast program of structural reform for several years in a number of areas. Results of the races, the country has reached a significant level of development but does not intend to stop there and continues to multiply and diversify multilateral and bilateral partnerships.
Thus, the Cherifian Kingdom reached a new agreement with its German partner this week. The two countries have agreed to launch the execution of a new support program amounting to more than 242 million euros for the year 2023.
This was during a new negotiation session between the two parties which was held in Berlin from October 18 to 19, 2022. Rabat was represented by a delegation of officials from various Moroccan ministerial departments and bodies, led by Redouane Adghougi , Director of European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In contrast, the German delegation was led by the Africa Director at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) .
The work of this session was launched by the Secretary of State at the BMZ, Barbel Kofler, and by the Ambassador to Morocco in Germany, Zohour Alaoui.
German support of 38 million euros for the construction of a green hydrogen plant in the Cherifian Kingdom
This new support program for an amount of 242 million euros covers several sectors in Morocco. Among other things: support for reforms, employment, green energy and a sustainable economy. 38 million euros will be dedicated exclusively to the first green hydrogen plant in Africa.
The program includes in particular: A loan of 122 million euros from the German Development Bank (KFW) to support the project to generalize social protection, support for the German Ministry of Development for the integration of young people and women on the labor market, particularly in remote areas, โฌ38 million in support of the creation of green added value, the construction of the first green hydrogen plant in Africa.
During this negotiation session, the two parties underlined the excellence of the renewed relations between Morocco and Germany and welcomed the exchange of messages between the German President Mr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier and His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
The German side reiterated, on this occasion, its support for the reforms carried out by Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, for a more open and dynamic Moroccan society and economy, particularly in the light of the New Model of development and advanced regionalization.
