German channel DW revealed that Algeria expressed interest in buying Turkish weapons during President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s visit to Turkey.
Duce Villa added, citing unidentified media sources, that Algeria is also interested in Turkish armored vehicles of the Kirpi and Foran type, radar and surveillance systems, night vision systems, bulletproof vests, military uniforms and radios.
It should be noted that Tebboune had confirmed during a press conference he held with his counterpart Erdogan in Ankara, Algeria’s intention to establish cooperation between the two countries in the field of military industries, especially marine ones.
The German channel, speaking in Arabic, wondered if Turkey’s sale of Bayraktar planes to Algeria would affect Turkish-Moroccan relations, especially since Algeria’s western neighbor has this type plane that has gained international fame.
The channel said that if Ankara sells drones to Algeria, it means Bayraktar will fly on both sides of the borders of the two current countries.
It should be noted that the Royal Moroccan Air Force used Turkish planes to bomb commercial trucks in the liberated lands of Western Sahara.
The specialized site Mena Defense had revealed that the two Algerian trucks bombed last November in the liberated desert lands had been carried out by the Turkish TB2 Bayraktar carrying MAM-L ammunition.
