Fuel Prices Are Eating Into the Purchasing Power of Moroccans

Fuel prices are expected to rise again, exacerbating the crisis in the sector, which is followed by a wave of great controversy over the government of Aziz Akhannouch. In this context, the national oil and gas union recorded a rise in the price of gasoline on Saturday evening in some service stations to 15.61 dirhams per litre.

A rise that draws the outlines of a further rise in prices over the next two days, which called on the National Petroleum and Gas Union to propose 7 steps that contribute to the return of prices to the previous era and overcome the state of price turbulence.

Union called on the government to intervene in order to lower prices by capping the price of gasoline at 10 dirhams and gasoline at 11 dirhams, in addition to setting the profit margin of distributors within reasonable and acceptable limits.

Returning to the rise in national fuel prices, which the union compared between the last half of September and the first half of October, it turns out that there is a separation between the crude market and the pure materials market, where the price of oil increased by about 3% while the price of gas increased by about 9% of which confirms.
