Mr. Ammar recalled Tunisia’s principled position on the Libyan political process and the need to push for an inter-Libyan solution under the leadership of the Libyans themselves, within the framework of a national, inclusive dialogue, sponsored by the United Nations.
Foreign Minister Nabil Ammar spoke yesterday with US Ambassador to Tunis Joey Hood, who was accompanied by US Special Envoy to Libya Ambassador Richard Norland . The meeting focused on historical Tunisian-American relations and ways to further develop them, as well as the coordination of the two countries’ positions on regional and international issues of common interest, according to the Foreign Affairs Department.
Mr. Ammar recalled, on this occasion, Tunisia’s position of principle regarding the Libyan political process and the need to push for an inter-Libyan solution under the leadership of the Libyans themselves, within the framework of a dialogue national, inclusive, sponsored by the United Nations.
For their part, American diplomats hailed Tunisia’s constructive role within the framework of the Libyan political process, recalling the various meetings held in Tunis within the framework of the encouragement of inter-Libyan dialogue.
