Flights to Algeria: Desperate, Air Canada Sells Its Tickets at a Discount

August has barely arrived, and Air Canada is offering exceptionally cheap prices on its flights to Algeria. The airline is suffering from a drop in demand for its tickets and a decrease in people’s thirst for travel.

This is why Air Canada has decided to lower its prices starting this August 2024. Its network to Algeria is also benefiting from this promotion, in the middle of the summer season.

Montreal โ€“ Algiers flights: Air Canada offers discounts for summer 2024

The entire airline industry is revising its forecasts, with demand for summer season tickets being overestimated everywhere, and many airlines are suffering. This is the case of Air Canada, which has decided to remedy this by announcing promotions on several destinations.

Indeed, on its booking site, the airline displays its travel tickets from Montreal to the capital Algiers for $801. The same ticket was selling for more than $1,400 during the same period in 2023.

In the opposite direction, notably from Houari Boumediene Airport in Algiers to Trudeau Airport in Montreal, these tickets are offered at the price of $623 if you wait until September 2024 to plan your vacation.

Airlines forced to lower prices

While summer is still in full swing, airfares are down 25%. Indeed, many airlines that have strengthened their schedules are struggling to sell their tickets during this summer season.

Passengers who prefer to book their tickets at the last minute will be able to take advantage of a discount of up to -25% on average and, therefore, still enjoy a holiday in the sun at a lower cost. These travelers will also be able to keep an eye on popular destinations such as Canada, Spain, Italy, and Greece, which are currently enjoying a 22% reduction.

From France, prices have fallen by 4.4%, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Moreover, since spring, unusual promotions on popular summer destinations have been displayed by several leading airlines. These figures show that the airline sector is struggling to fill its planes at the expected rate.
