Fiat Factory to Increase Production: 4 Cars per Hour and Beyond

Industry Minister Ali Aoun provided exciting news regarding the Fiat plant in Algeria. In an announcement on Thursday, he revealed that the plant is currently producing four Fiat 500 cars per hour. These figures show positive dynamics in the Algerian automotive sector.

Ali Aoun shared new information on the 2025 finance bill during a hearing before the Finance and Budget Committee of the National People’s Assembly.

The Fiat factory is not limited to the production of the Fiat 500 model. Indeed, it also manufactures a second car model. As part of agreements with its partners, Minister Aoun stressed the ambition to double production. This initiative aims to meet the growing demand while consolidating Fiat’s presence in the Algerian market.

A fourth team to increase production

A significant agreement was reached with the Italian partner to set up a fourth shift at the plant. This aims to multiply production and meet the growing demand in the Algerian market. “We have agreed with the plant managers to set up a fourth shift to intensify the production process, and by the end of November, the quantity will increase,” the minister said.

He also revealed that some factories are expected to start production soon, adding to optimism about the future of the sector.

However, the minister addressed the worrying issue of the scarcity of cars in the Algerian market. He explained that this situation is the result of several factors. In any case, considerable efforts are being made to address this shortcoming.

Ali Aoun reaffirms the โ€œstrategicโ€ vision of the sector

Ali Aoun reaffirmed that the Algerian automotive sector is evolving by the directives of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The goal is to create a real automotive industry in the country, and the Fiat factory is already a pillar of this ambition. “We started on the president’s directives to create a real automotive industry, and we gave all our support to the Fiat factory so that there is a real industry, and the project is well and truly underway,” he stressed.

This dynamic is promising and could encourage other companies to invest in Algeria, thus stimulating the local economy and promoting job creation. The growth of the automotive industry is seen as a key element for the country’s economic diversification.
