Expulsion policy: Morocco aligns with France

Morocco once again agrees to issue numerous consular passes. Enough to facilitate the expulsion of its nationals from France.

Rabat and Paris seem to be returning to better feelings. According to the entourage of the Minister of the Interior, โ€œMorocco is currently once again agreeing to issue numerous consular passes,โ€ reports France info. In September 2021, Paris decided to halve the entry permits granted to Moroccans, to push Morocco โ€œto change policy and agree to issue these consular passesโ€. โ€œWe would like the reaction to be more cooperation with France so that we can enforce our migration rules,โ€ insisted Gabriel Attal, then government spokesperson.

From now on, Morocco no longer slow down the effectiveness of effective deportations to the border once the obligations to leave French territory (OQTF) have been issued. The kingdom therefore agrees to take back its nationals. Algeria is also part of the same dynamic. This improvement in cooperation with France is bearing fruit. In total, 93 foreigners were returned to their country of origin in the week of November 6 to 12 alone, according to figures put forward by the Interior Ministry on Sunday.

The day after the Arras attack, Gรฉrald Darmanin instructed the prefects to systematically expel โ€œany foreigner [โ€ฆ] considered dangerous by the intelligence servicesโ€. According to a source close to the matter, expulsions of foreign delinquents have increased by approximately 30% since the death of Dominique Bernard, the professor murdered in his school on October 13.
