Eshra and the French University of Angers Sign Two Partnership Agreements

Two partnership and educational cooperation agreements were signed on Thursday in Algiers between the Higher School of Hospitality and Catering of Algiers ( ESHRA ) and the Higher School of Tourism and Hospitality of the French University of Angers.

The two agreements were signed by the Chairman and CEO of the Sociรฉtรฉ d’investissement hรดteliรจre (SIH), Ismail Chaalal and the Rector of the Faculty of Tourism, Culture and Hospitality (ESTHUA) of the French University of Angers, Jean-Renรฉ Morice.

In his speech on this occasion, Mr. Chaalal indicated that the 1st agreement aims to “enable students enrolled at the school level to obtain the two bachelor’s degrees in management, hotel management, and catering from the Algiers Higher School, as well as the bachelor’s degree in tourism specializing in hospitality issued by ESTHUA of the University of Angers.”

As for the 2nd convention, it concerns the organization of “an international conference on tourism in Africa” โ€‹โ€‹which will be held, he specified, “every two years, namely that the 1st edition will be organized in April 2025” and will be dedicated to the debate on the theme “Tourism in Africa, challenges and prospects for sustainable development”, in the presence of Algerian and foreign experts, academics and researchers.

This partnership will allow “students and teachers to benefit from the experiences and educational programs provided at the University of Angers, which will contribute to improving the level of skills to be in line with the requirements of the local and international market,” noted Mr. Challal.

On the other hand, the same official indicated that the partnership between the two schools also provided for the realization of “joint research projects and academic exchanges, as well as extracurricular activities”, with the organization of international conferences on a “periodic” basis.

Furthermore, Mr. Challal announced that new graduates in the various sectors will have the opportunity to join the National School of Hotel Management and Catering, after the agreement of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

For his part, Mr. Jean-Renรฉ Morice, university professor of Geography at the University of Angers, stressed the importance of this partnership for the training of students in the field of hospitality, which will allow “to promote tourism in Algeria and meet the aspirations of professionals in the sector for the development of hotel and catering services.”
