Earthquake in Turkey: The Remains of the Two Repatriated Algerian Victims

The remains of two Algerian nationals who died following the devastating earthquake that struck southern Turkey arrived on Saturday at Houari-Boumediene International Airport.

They are Serairi Samiha (44 years old) and her daughter Berber Hadil (13 years old) whose lifeless bodies were found and identified last Thursday in the town of Iskenderun in the province of Hatay in the south of Turkey.

The Minister of National Solidarity, Family, and the Status of Women, Kaouter Krikou was present at the arrival of the Air Algérie plane transporting the two remains, alongside representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community abroad, and of the families of the two victims.

In her statement, the Minister offered her sincere condolences to the families of the two victims and to all the victims of the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria. The family of the two victims expressed their gratitude for the efforts made by the Algerian authorities to facilitate the transport of the two remains.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad announced the death of two (2) Algerian nationals following the devastating earthquake that struck southern Turkey and northern Syria last Monday, killing thousands of people. deaths and extensive material damage.

The services of the Consulate General of Algeria in Istanbul, in coordination with the Turkish authorities, have undertaken the procedures for transporting the remains to the city of Istanbul for their repatriation to Algeria.

Transport and repatriation costs were entirely covered by the Algerian State.
