The future of Djamel Belmadi at the head of the technical bar of the national football team is becoming a little more uncertain every day.
The most official voice in Algerian football, namely the FAF communications officer, spoke on the issue and made it clear that Belmadi is “very angry“.
“The record of the national team is thorny, it remains unclear, the latest developments indicate that the national coach is angry, very angry, after everything that has happened,” said Salah Eddine Abboud on Tuesday evening at the El Badil TV channel.
Is resignation therefore possible as it is argued here and there? “If there is resignation, it is he who will announce it clearly, his frankness has no limits. All I can say is he’s angry. I cannot go further out of respect for the body, my function, and the man, but I can say that he has gone through a period of anger, ”replied Abboud.
Many observers have been talking for a few days about the probable resignation of Djamel Belmadi since the ups and downs which marked the FAF elections.
The national coach, who gets along well with Kheireddine Zetchi, did not appreciate that he was pushed towards the exit door for “extra-sporting” reasons, while his record is more than positive, with a Cup African Nations brought back from Egypt, a marked improvement in the level of the national team, the launch of training centers and the stabilization of the FAF and EN entourage.
The FAF file opened at FIFA level
In his previous outings, Belmadi has expressed his admiration for Zetchi and made comments interpreted as a prelude to his resignation. He would be particularly very angry at the fact that an attempt is made to lend him a role in the choice of the new president of the FAF.
Earlier this week, it was the famous commentator Hafid Deradji who clearly questioned the resignation of Djamel Belmadi in an article published on the Arabi Post site.
During the same program of El Badil TV, Salah Bey also hinted that concerning the election of a new president at the head of the FAF, nothing has yet been settled vis-à-vis FIFA, revealing that “the file of the Algerian federation is open” at the level of the international body.
“It is true that the GA took place in good conditions, but the FAF file remains on the FIFA desk. It is only when FIFA announces that these elections were held in good conditions, and will register the name of Charaf-Eddine Amara as the new official president of the FAF, that we will be relieved. We congratulate Mr. Amarra, but there is still this specter that we hope it will pass,” admits the head of the Algerian federation.
FIFA has indeed demanded that the statutes of the Faf be brought into conformity before the elective general assembly, which has not been done. The rejection of the results of the GA of April 15, and therefore of the election of Mr. Amara, is therefore not excluded.
