Dates: Tunisia Boosts Its Income by 22.4% in One Year

According to the National Observatory of Agriculture (ONAGRI), exports of Tunisian dates experienced a clear increase during the first ten months of the 2023/2024 campaign.

Export volume increased by 17.6%, while sales value increased by 22.4% compared to the previous campaign in 2022/2023.

In total, Tunisia shipped 135.2 thousand tonnes of dates, generating an income of 839.1 million dinars. The average price per kilogram also increased by 4.1%, reaching 6.22 dinars, compared to 5.97 dinars last year.

Over this same period, exports of organic dates amounted to 7,773 thousand tonnes, for a total value of 84.5 million dinars, with an average price of 12.87 dinars per kilogram. They represent 5.8% of volumes and 12.1% of total revenues from date exports.

Germany remains the leading destination for Tunisian organic dates, absorbing 36% of exports, followed by Belgium with 14% and the Netherlands with 12%.
