China’s Special Envoy for the Middle East on Working Visit to Tunisia

Nabil Amar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, received on Friday, July 5, 2024, Zhai Jun, Special Envoy for the Middle East of the People’s Republic of China, on a working visit to Tunisia.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review several topics of common interest, in particular the recent visit of Mr. President to Beijing, which Zhai Jun described as a success at all levels. The Chinese official also discussed the upcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation summit in Beijing in early September 2024, hoping Tunisia’s participation would be the highest.

On the Palestinian issue, the Chinese Special Envoy appreciated the convergence of the positions of Tunisia and China.

Regarding the upcoming summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, the Head of Diplomacy stressed the importance of this partnership on both the bilateral and multilateral levels and the investment opportunities it offers to the African continent, indicating that Tunisia will participate at the highest possible level.

On the issue of Palestine, the Minister stressed the inalienable and imprescriptible Palestinian right, no matter how long the prolonged aggression and crimes of genocide last, until the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people for independence and autonomy and the establishment of their fully sovereign state throughout their territory with Al-Quds as its capital are realized.
