Last February, President Tebboune made a major diplomatic move that involved 24 ambassadors, 15 consuls general and nine consuls.

This diplomatic move announced on Monday is the first of its kind since the  return of Ahmed Attaf  at the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs last March, replacing Ramtane Lamamra.

These changes come as Algerian diplomacy has  marked its return  to the regional and international arenas, after years of hibernation under the reign of former President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

Algeria hosted the Arab summit and hosted a meeting of Palestinian factions last November. In early June, she was elected  a non-permanent member  of the UN Security Council.
