The country wakes up this Saturday in mourning, still in shock and many videos shared on social networks testify to the terror that affected Moroccans who experienced the earthquake.
A disastrous human toll, colossal material damage… After the shock, it is difficult to wake up this Saturday, September 9 in Morocco, after a night marked by a particularly violent earthquake 70 km south-west of Marrakech. After an initial assessment of nearly 300 dead, a new inventory puts forward at least 632 dead this Saturday morning.
“Adrenaline takes over”
On social networks, many Internet users are sharing images of the damage and some were able to film the first moments of the earthquake, thus testifying to the terror into which the elements plunged the country.
“Adrenaline takes over,” says a witness to the earthquake, who took a few seconds to realize what was happening. He tells BFM that he fled his apartment without even closing the door “because, at that moment, you think about your life”, and recounts the “faces of fear” once he found himself outside.

A young woman, seated in a restaurant, was also able to film the first moments of the earthquake, as well as the crowd movement which reflects the panic of the residents.
Also on site, an influencer experienced the first moments of the earthquake and shared her videos on her Snapchat account, then shared on Twitter by Internet users. We can hear his amazement at discovering so many people outside, even though the earth had just shaken.
