Referring to the Covax device, the Minister of Health clarified that “there is a quota which fluctuates between 12 and 16 million doses, many of which are AstraZeneca”, according to the same source.

“We are hopeful that the promised quotas will be obtained very quickly. We expect a cargo of 1.4 million in the context of Covax for the next few days, ”he added.

Addressing the vaccination campaign, Minister Benbouzid indicated that “vaccination does not prevent the spread of the virus, the antidote is there to prevent serious forms and hospitalizations”, according to the same media.

In this regard, he underlined: “If we vaccinate 60% of the population, it will be 17 million Algerians concerned, while 70% represent 20 million Algerians. Some countries are satisfied with the rate of 50% of the global population ”.
