Israeli arms company Elbit Systems announced plans Monday to build a weapons ammunition manufacturing plant for an international client for about $135 million. Could it be Morocco?
The manufacturer indicated in a press release on Monday that it had obtained a contract worth approximately $135 million to “build an artillery ammunition factory for an international client”, without giving details of this “client”. Last June, Elbit Systems announced the upcoming establishment of two military equipment factories in Morocco. But no information in the Monday press release suggests that it is the kingdom, reports Info Defensa.
In its note, the company limited itself to specifying that this customer will benefit from the “technical and operational expertise” accumulated by the company over decades in the production of munitions. Elbit Systems faces “increasing demand from governments around the world who wish to improve their sovereign munitions production capabilities,” underlines its CEO, Yehuda Vered.
