The verdict of the trial of the businessman and boss of the ETRHB group, involving several former ministers including Sellal and Ouyahia, was delivered on Wednesday July 1 at the Sidi Mhamed court in Algiers.
The main respondent, Ali Haddad, was sentenced to 18 years in prison and a fine of 800 million cents, with seizure of all his property at home and abroad, (his companies, houses, bank accounts). Ali Haddad’s brothers, in this case Soufiane, Omar and Meziane, were sentenced to 4 years in prison each and 8 million dinars with seizure of their property.
The two former prime ministers Ahmed Ouyahia and Abdelmalek Sellal were sentenced to 12 years in prison each and a fine of (01) million dinars. As for former ministers Abdelakder Kadi, Boudjemaa Telai and Amara Benyounes, they were sentenced to 3 years in prison and a fine of 500,000 dinars each.
Former Minister of Transport and Public Works Amar Ghoul was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Mahdjoub Bedda and Youcef Yousfi of 2 years in prison. Zaalane was sentenced to 3 years in prison. Former Industry Minister Abdeslam Bouchouareb (on the run) was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
