Algeria’s New Team Jersey Unveiled With Great Fanfare in Marseille

In collaboration with Pro Direct Soccer, the Greens’ kit supplier, Adidas, officially presented the Algeria team’s new jersey for the 2024/2025 season on Saturday, October 5. The presentation took place with great fanfare in Marseille.

The Cours Honoré d’Estienne d’Orves, a tourist pedestrian square with restaurants in the 1st arrondissement of Marseille, took on a typically Algerian atmosphere on Saturday evening.

The three-stripe brand has finally unveiled the two long-awaited official national team jerseys. As expected, the design is simply inspired by Algerian culture.

Here is the new Algeria team jersey for the 2024/2025 season

The main jersey used at home is designed in a classic style with a white base and green outlines on the shoulders and waist. The design is visibly faithful to the traditional aesthetic of the Algerian football team. The red Adidas logo is affixed at the top right.

The away kit is distinguished by a darker green than usual, with patterns on the front. The logos of the FAF and the equipment supplier Adidas are centered on the front of the jersey.

Adidas took inspiration from the Karakou, the traditional Algerian costume usually decorated with embroidery, which appeared in the 19th century and is still worn throughout the country today. The nod to this Algiers outfit is discreet on the white and green home jersey, but it appears on the away tunic.

To launch Algeria’s new jersey, Adidas and Pro Direct Soccer chose the city of Marseille. ” It was an obvious choice since it is the French city with the largest Algerian community,” explained Valentin Schmitt, a Pro Direct Soccer manager, quoted by the local newspaper La Provence.

Algérino sets the Algerian team’s new kit on fire

During the launch party, held on Saturday evening, Algerian culture was very well represented in the Cours d’Estienne d’Orves, the place of the former Hard Rock Café in Marseille: tent, traditional carpets, decoration, music, traditional dishes, Algerian agricultural products…

To mark the event, the Greens’ equipment supplier and its partner Pro Direct Soccer invited public figures of Algerian origin, including rapper l’Algérino, actress Melha Bedia, YouTuber Mohamed Henni, and influencer Samia Benyounes, known under the pseudonym Sam FootX.

And it was rapper l’Algérino who revealed the new Algerian team jersey during a mini impromptu concert on the occasion. “It’s a pleasure for me to be here tonight to inaugurate the launch of the new Algerian national team jersey,” the singer said into the microphone, wearing the Fennecs’ new away jersey.

The Algerian Fennecs team, first in its qualifying group for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, will wear its two new jerseys during the next double confrontation against Togo. First, I will be at home on Thursday, October 10, and then in Togo on October 14.
