“The Chargรฉ d’Affaires of our embassy in Iraq’s capital paid a visit to the injured journalist as soon as she arrived in Ghazi Al-Hariri Hospital of Baghdad, to enquire about her health and make sure she gets the required medical care,” he added.

The representative of the Algerian embassy in the Iraqi capital “talked to her after she awakened from the coma.”

The Chargรฉ d’Affaires added that the “medical staff told her that her wound was not serious and her vital prognosis is not engaged.”

Algeria’s embassy in Bagdad “follows closely and with great interest the health status of the Algerian journalist, in coordination with the Iraqi authorities, and provides the help she needs,” the spokesman of the ministry stressed.

The embassy of Algeria in Iraq “will meet this week many senior Iraqi government officials to examine the ways and methods to provide the best possible assistance to our compatriot until she has recovered.”
