The end of next October has been set as the last deadline for the reception of the Algerian-Mauritanian land border posts “Chahid Mustapha Benboulaid” in the wilaya of Tindouf. This was revealed yesterday by the wali of Tindouf, Mustafa Dahou, after a field visit that took him with the executive to Kilometer Point 75 linking Tindouf to the Mauritanian border.
“The work on the border crossings project should be completed at the end of next October, including connection to all networks,” indicated the wali of Tindouf. According to the same official, “the progress rate of the works exceeds 98% for the Algerian part, and 97% for the Mauritanian part.”
Also, the wali urged those responsible for carrying out the project to complete the work on the date agreed with the National Public Works Company. In his speech, the wali recalled the importance given by the public authorities to this strategic project on which the State relies in trade with West African countries. The initial deadline for completing the two positions was reduced from 24 months to one year.
A financial envelope of more than 34 million dinars has been allocated for the construction of this border post, according to the project technical sheet. Once delivered, this project should play a major role in the development and revitalization of this border region, as well as commercial and economic exchanges, and the revitalization of bilateral conventions, particularly in anticipation of the exploitation of the Ghar-Djebilet mine. , in addition to strengthening relations with both Mauritania and West African countries.
This border post will open new perspectives for economic operators to exchange commercial products and conquer foreign markets, particularly African ones.
