Algerian-Emirati Joint Commission: Signature of Five Cooperation Agreements

The work of the 15th session of the Algerian-Emirati Joint Commission, held Friday in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), under the co-chairmanship of the Minister of Industry, Ahmed Zaghdar and the Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah Al Marri, were sanctioned by the signing of five cooperation agreements.

These are industrial and technological cooperation memorandum of understanding, investment cooperation memorandum of understanding, digitization cooperation memorandum of understanding, of a memorandum of understanding in the field of earthquake engineering, in addition to an executive program in the field of specifications and standardization, said a press release from the Ministry of Industry. In his speech during the work of the Algerian-Emirati Joint Commission, Mr.”an opportunity to assess the level of cooperation and propose ways to promote it to live up to the aspirations of the leaders and peoples of the two countries”, according to the same source.

The minister called on the businessmen of the two countries to establish contacts and intensify meetings to explore the possibilities and opportunities to increase bilateral trade and investment. Mr. Zaghdar recalled, in this sense, the reforms and amendments initiated by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune to improve the business climate in Algeria and at their head the revision of the legal framework governing investment. in the country. The participants in the work of the Commission, which took place in the presence of the Emirati Minister of Foreign Trade, Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, discussed several issues concerning bilateral cooperation in the fields of investment, trade, industry, digitization, modernization of administration, digital economy and start-ups, agriculture, environment, tourism, renewable energy and infrastructure. At the end of the work, the two parties signed the minutes of the meeting covering the conclusions of this session, including the holding, next May, of the first session of the Algerian-Emirati business council in Abu Dhabi, the first meeting of the maritime transport commission scheduled for the 2nd quarter of 2023, in addition to the first session of the Algerian-Emirati working group for cooperation in the field of investment, added the same source.
