Algeria Ferries to France: Disappointment and Indignation After the Rumor

Disappointment and indignation: such is the feeling of the Algerians established in France, who moved, this Tuesday, May 10, to the agencies of Algérie Ferries in France in the hope of reserving a place in Algeria this summer.

Indeed, the agencies of Algeria Ferries in France were stormed by crowds of customers to buy tickets on the morning of this Tuesday. Finally, it turned out that the sale of tickets for the summer season of 2022 is still not open.

The rumor that circulated on social networks, reporting the start of the sale of tickets for sea crossings, was then denied by the CEO of Algeria Ferries. The hope of finally having a reservation in Algeria has gone.

This rush to the shipping company agencies clearly reflects the ardent desire of these Algerians to reach the country this summer. But nothing justifies running behind rumors, especially since no announcement has been made by Algérie Ferries, either on its website or on its official Facebook page, even less via statements from its managers.

Algeria Ferries: “lack of communication” pointed out

Visibly “led by boat” by the rumors relayed on social networks, the members of the national community in France were disappointed and indignant, to say the least. Several of them gave their reactions following this incident.

“It’s becoming nonsense there”, indignantly says ”Meli Ness”, administrator of the Facebook page “Algerians in the world”. This problem is due, according to her, “to the lack of communication between the authorities, the agencies, and the Algerians”.

The situation that the Algerians have just experienced in front of the Algeria Ferries agencies in France, because of a rumor “it is unheard of”, she adds. It calls on the Algerian authorities to announce “as soon as possible” a crossing program to put an end to this situation.

Another Internet user gives his testimony on what happened at the Algeria Ferries agency in Lyon. “Today, May 10, a hundred people came to Algérie Ferries for nothing,” he testifies.

Before adding that the agents of the agency “just took the reservation numbers of people who had already purchased their tickets”. And to note “that no information has been given on the start date of the reservation”.
