Bad management, delays, lack of hygiene, not to mention the incivility of some travelers, more than one obstacle stands in the way of the comfort of passengers on Algerian ships.
Algérie Ferries, despite the entry into service of its ship “Badji Mokhtar 3″, still disappoints its customers.
Algeria Ferries: delays and lack of communication
In a new testimony posted this Sunday on social networks, an Internet user who made the Oran Marseille crossing on August 13, aboard the ship Tariq Ibn Ziad, wanted to recount his experience which had prompted him to take the decision “not to take the boat with Algeria Ferries again for several years”.
The passenger indicates that her crossing was initially scheduled for August 12, before the departure was postponed until August 13. If the delay can be justified, the traveler specifies that “some travelers were not alerted to the postponement of the trip”, which further confirms the lack of communication at Algérie Ferries.
As if this one-day postponement was not enough, the national shipping company’s ship, which should have left the port of Marseilles at 12 p.m., was another 5 hours late, and did not depart until 5 p.m.
During the crossing, the ship was again 3 hours late, said the passenger from Algeria Ferries. “How why ? We were left with no well-founded explanations”, she wonders, adding that “the sea was calm throughout the crossing”.
At the level of the border and customs police, the Internet user, in his testimony posted on Facebook, indicates that the controls were “much less painful than some years ago, but still just as badly organized”.
Ship Tariq Ibn Ziyad: “advanced state of wear”
In addition to the delays, Algérie Ferries is also disappointing, particularly with the condition of its boats”. The Internet user deplored “the very advanced state of wear of the ship and the cabins, berths, rooms, armchairs, as well as the toilets”
The hygiene of the ship, too, leaves something to be desired. The traveler denounces “floors covered with filth, collective toilets, filthy and clogged, almost unusable”. “Sensitive souls abstain,” she warns.
The Internet user also does not fail to point out that “the cleaning of the berths, cabins and common areas was not done on arrival in the boat”. Finally, she warns travelers and informs them that “the beds and berths are infested with bedbugs”.
“You pay €2,800 for a crossing and that’s the condition you find yourself traveling in,” laments the passenger in a video she filmed inside her cabin.
Staff and catering: “correct without more”
The staff of the Tariq Ibn Ziyad ship from Algérie Ferries was not greeted by the traveler, but the latter did not reproach them for their rather cold attitude either.
The Internet user indicates that “the flight attendants were correct without more”, according to her, however, we cannot “blame them for their lack of friendliness and sense of service when we see the behavior and the lack of civility and civility, even education of some travelers”.
With regard to catering, the passenger affirms that “for the same amount, we eat much better at Flunch”. “Let’s just say it keeps you from being hungry,” she concludes.
Unable to hide her disappointment, the traveler affirms that she “will not be taking the boat with Algérie Ferries again for several years”. According to her, “Spanish companies and ships are much better”.
Finally, the passenger assures us that this observation does not only concern the ship Tariq Ibn Ziyad, but also the Djazair II on board which she indicates that her husband and children boarded. The brats, 6 and 11 years old, “had to hold back 10 hours before being able to relieve their needs” she laments.
