Competition is expected to be tough in maritime transport between Europe and Algeria for the coming months and especially the next summer season. Here is what will change for shipping companies.
Except for Algรฉrie Ferries, all shipping companies serving the lines between southern Europe and Algeria are increasing their stopovers and accelerating the improvement of their services and the launch of new lines.
Between the imminent launch of services by the new Algerian company, Nouris Elbahr Ferries, and the announcement of new connections by Baleร ria and Corsica Linea which is improving its on-board service, Algรฉrie Ferries finds itself during fierce competition.
Nouris Elbahr Ferries: The Cracovia ferry expected this Wednesday at the port of Algiers
The travel offer between Europe and Algeria will soon be strengthened with the launch of the services of the new private Algerian company. This Wednesday, October 2, the ferry chartered by Nouris El Bahr Ferries will dock at the port of Algiers at 2 p.m.
This was all that was left for the company to launch its activity. The position of the ship consulted this morning on VesselFinder indicates that it is already off the Algerian coast, near the coastal town of Cherchell.
All the formalities necessary for the launch of activities have been completed. Last week, the young Algerian shipping company announced a partnership with the reservation platform Foundoq.com, allowing its customers to book their transport tickets.
Travelers will be able to book their travel tickets on board the Nouris Elbahr Ferries ship ” quickly and easily, directly through all Foundoq.com partner agencies .”
Nouris El Bahr Ferries will initially offer its services between the Algerian ports of Algiers and Bejaia and the French port of Marseille, then between Algiers and Alicante and Oran and Alicante, in Spain.
Baleร ria strengthens its connections and adds two ports in Algeria
For its part, the Spanish company Baleร ria announced on Tuesday, October 1, the launch of new lines to Algeria. Two new Algerian ports, namely Algiers and Oran and another in Spain, namely Barcelona, โโwill be added to the company’s program.
Baleร ria will operate a weekly connection between the port of Algiers and Valencia from October 18. Towards the end of next December, the Spanish company will add a new weekly connection between the port of Oran and Valencia.
From January 15, Baleร ria will open for the first time a service connecting Algiers and Barcelona, โโthus competing with the national company, Algรฉrie Ferries.
It will also maintain two weekly connections with Valencia: a fixed connection from Algiers and another from Oran and Mostaganem, alternating each week.
Corsica Linea goes all out on entertainment on board its ships
For its part, the French company Corsica Linea recently launched two quality entertainment services on all its ships, including those bound for Algeria. These are the high-speed Wi-Fi service, accessible from common areas, and the new “Video on Demand” (VOD) service.
The latter service, announced last week, allows travelers to watch video content, including TV shows, movies, and animations, directly on their electronic devices.
All you have to do is connect your smartphone, tablet, or PC to the company’s Wi-Fi network and select “Entertainment on Demand Service”. A wide range of video programs is available to travelers free of charge.
Corsica Linea also announced in early September the deployment of high-speed Wi-Fi on all its ships. Passengers can choose between three different paid packages to stay connected throughout their crossings.
