Sea crossings have recently resumed, to the delight of travelers and the Algerian diaspora after a long period of inactivity due to Covid-19. The decline of the latter allowed their recovery.
A long-awaited recovery and unexpected worries. Many problems were noted during the Marseille – Algiers crossing. These problems started long before I got on board, the ticket reservation system is still not efficient and structured.
First of all, one cannot ignore the endless queues, at the port, at the entrance, at the reception, generating a derogatory din and crush. Then, at the reception, a cruel lack of organization especially for the distribution of rooms while the neglect of the elderly and people with special needs is evident; absolutely no support. Then, to top it off, no internet during the entire crossing, hours of boredom imposed on travelers.
In addition to the long wait to get cars out and the failure of elevators and electric stairs to get luggage down, many travelers complained that they had lost their belongings. Finally, the pain of waiting was evident on the faces of travelers during slow customs procedures.
Poor management!
These are complicated moments lived aboard Badji Mokhtar 3, which the deputy emigration, Tewfik Khedim, did not fail to raise and denounce through his Facebook page. The latter was one of the travelers on this crossing.
The deputy did not hesitate to contact the authorities concerned, strongly denouncing “the scenes of mediocrity and management failure” omnipresent on board, and this, affirming that the follow-up will be carried out, with the aim of improving the conditions. Algerian travel and above all, caring for the image of Algeria through the institutions that represent it.
