This congress, whose works started on 19 September 2016, under the theme “Ensuring sustainable development- Linking citizens, companies and territories,” brought the delegates of 192 countries of the union together, including Algeria, to discuss the new global postal strategy which will serve as a roadmap to UPU.
During this meeting, the future rules for the international trading in this field will be determined.

In the next work cycle 2016-2020, this strategy will be called Postal Strategy of Istanbul, in the honour of Turkey as the event’s host country.
