The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, proceeded, Thursday, November 11, to a partial cabinet reshuffle, which affected three ministries. These are the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, and the Ministry of Communication.
Thus, the reshuffle saw the appointment of Mohamed Abdelhafid Henni as head of the Ministry of Agriculture, replacing Abdelhamid Hamdani. Also, the appointment of Youcef Cherfa at the head of the Ministry of Labor, replacing Abderrahmane Lahfaya. Finally, there was the appointment of Mohamed Bouslimani at the head of the Ministry of Communication, replacing Ammar Belhimer.
This is the first reshuffle that has affected the Government of the Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, appointed last July. The new ministers took office this Saturday, November 13, 2021, reports the APS.
Mohamed Abdelhafid Henni takes office as Minister of Agriculture
The new Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohamed Abdelhafid Henni, took up his new post on Saturday. The handing over ceremony took place at the headquarters of the ministry in the presence of sector executives.
On this occasion, Mr. Henni addressed his thanks to the President of the Republic for the confidence he placed in himself, assuring that he “will continue the efforts already made by his predecessors for the development of this strategic sector”.
The new minister underlined, in this sense, the importance and the role of agriculture in the development of the national economy and social prosperity, affirming that the first objective of the sector was “to ensure the availability of the products of large consumption for all citizens ”. He also affirmed his “determination” to achieve the objectives outlined by the Government for 2024, counting on the collaboration of executives and professionals in the sector.
The minister also praised the farmers and breeders who have worked in this “difficult” situation, marked by the economic crisis and the Covid-19 pandemic, to ensure the supply of food products to the populations.
Aged 65, Mr. Henni holds a diploma in veterinary science and a diploma in biochemistry. He had held the post of director of veterinary services at the ministry, as well as several positions of responsibility, including that of director of regulation and development of agricultural products.
Youcef Cherfa takes office as Minister of Labor
Youcef Cherfa took up his post as head of the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security. Speaking during the handover ceremony held at the headquarters of the ministry, the new minister addressed his “thanks to the President of the Republic, for the confidence which placed him in his person to ensure the missions of this very sector. important and sensitive”, affirming his availability to work hard in the management of this sector.
In this context, Mr. Cherfa expressed his commitment to work so that the sector can support “all sectors, especially the economic sector, with a view to contributing to the relaunch of development”, “by coordinating and working with the various partners”.
Mr. Lahfaya, for his part, addressed his thanks to the President of the Republic for the confidence he placed in him during his management of the sector, expressing to the new minister his wishes for success and success in his new functions.
Mohamed Bouslimani takes office as Minister of Communication
The new Minister of Communication, Mohamed Bouslimani took up his new functions on Saturday in Algiers. On this occasion, Mr. Bouslimani addressed his thanks to the President of the Republic, for the confidence placed in him, expressing his joy at returning to the Communication sector to which he belongs.
The responsibility of leading this “sensitive” sector is very heavy, he added, saying that after the efforts made previously as an executive in the sector, it will double its efforts to carry out this “important task. ”And meet“ the major challenges ”.
In this wake, Mr. Bouslimani called for “the federation of the efforts of everyone in order to continue on the path of their predecessors” at the level of a sector, “in the process of building”, and this to put in tune with developments in information and communication technologies (ICT)”. “The press remains the mirror of each State. And everyone is called upon to contribute to the development of this sector, and therefore to the building of a new Algeria,” said the new minister.
Calling on the public and private media to contribute to the revival of the sector, Mr. Bouslimani underlined that “a great work awaits us”. Regarding the local elections of November 27, the minister stressed that the media “play a crucial role” in the success of this important electoral event.
For his part, Ammar Belhimer addressed his thanks to the President of the Republic for the confidence placed in him during the period of his management of the sector, expressing to the new Minister his wishes for success in his new functions.
