Air Algérie announced on Saturday, August 9, the completion of the ownership transfer of Tassili Airlines and set the launch date for the first flight of its subsidiary, Domestic Airlines, which is fully dedicated to domestic routes.
“This strategic transformation aligns with the directives of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at creating a national airline specialized in domestic air transport, enhancing connectivity between the country’s provinces, and supporting economic and social development,” Air Algérie stated in a press release.
The national airline, now holding a complete monopoly on air transport in Algeria, explained that it is “working on reorganizing the merged company to improve its operational efficiency.”
