Algeria – The spokesperson for the national airline, “Air Algérie”, returns in an interview on several subjects in relation to the resumption of international flights, repatriation flights but also the increase in the prices of plane tickets.
Indeed, Amine Andaloussi, the spokesperson for the national company, Air Algeria, returns to several subjects which arouse the interest of many Algerians today, ranging from the results of the resumption of domestic flights, to a possible resumption of international flights, while going through the revision of the prices of airline tickets to the company to compensate for losses.
In this regard, the same official made it clear that the pricing policy applied by the company is none other than that obeying the law of supply and demand. Thus, he adds that in Algeria, competition is fierce in the field of aviation. Several airlines are present in the local market, and offer very good services. As a result, Air Algeria cannot set its prices as it sees fit, but rather comply with market rules.
However, of the losses caused by the Covid-19 crisis, which are estimated at nearly $ 300 million, the spokesperson says it is time for the company to recoup its shortfall. This is in the case of full resumption of flights. Something that will allow the company to seek new markets. As well as new destinations, mainly in Africa, which can be profitable for Air Algérie, according to the site La Patrie News.
Resumption of international flights by the national airline
In the same interview, Amine Andaloussi, said that the Algerian airline is more than ready to resume its international flights. This company has several years of experience in the field of aviation; can resume service without any problem after a shutdown of more than ten (10) months, he adds.
That said, it necessarily depends on the decision of the higher authorities to proceed or not with the opening of the borders and the imminent resumption of flights. In addition, the company took advantage of this period to develop; train its teams, improve them. Particularly in the field of prevention in collaboration with national and international health organizations.
