Tunisia-Tribune (Agricultural Investment and Technology Fair 2024) โ The International Dates Council will be the guest of honor at the 15th edition of the International Agricultural Investment and Technology Fair (SIAT 2024) to be held at the end of October 2024, announces the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries.
The Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, Ezzeddine Ben Cheikh, stressed, during the opening on Wednesday of the first session of the Committee for Marketing and Promotion of Dates of the International Date Council, the importance of cooperation between date-producing countries.
The session took place in the presence of the Executive Director of the International Dates Council, as well as representatives of member countries (Jordan, Iraq, Sudan, and Palestine), who attended remotely, and the working team responsible for preparing the first forum in Tunisia.
The minister stressed Tunisia’s determination, as the country chairing the marketing and promotion committee, to better strengthen cooperation between date-producing countries and to join forces in setting objectives and priorities to overcome the challenges of the sector and conquer new markets.
The volume of Tunisian date exports recorded, during the first 10 months of the 2023-2024 season, an increase of 17.6%. As for the revenues from these exports, they increased by 22.4%, compared to the same period of the 2022-2023 season, according to data recently published by the National Observatory of Agriculture (ONAGRI).
The Agricultural Investment Promotion Agency (APIA) will organize the 15th edition of the International Agricultural Investment and Technology Exhibition (SIAT 2024), from October 30 to November 2, 2024, at the Kram Exhibition Center.
The fair includes exhibition spaces for the latest technological creations related to agriculture, new developments in agricultural scientific research, ideas for new projects in the agricultural, and agri-food industries, as well as fisheries and services sectors.
The fair organizes partnership meetings between Tunisian and foreign investors and businessmen, intending to offer them the opportunity to create projects, build commercial relations, and conclude production contracts.
