Algeria comes in second place with a total of 186 points.
As a reminder, Algeria achieved “very honorable” results during the 65th International Mathematical Olympiad, organized in the city of Bath in Great Britain between July 11 and 22. The competition saw the participation of delegations from 108 countries.
According to the Ministry of National Education, Algeria had won “for the first time since joining this prestigious international competition a gold medal obtained by the student Derrache Chamseddine Abdelali”, indicates the same source.
This makes Algeria ” the only Arab and African nation to have won a gold medal during this edition, while the other members of the team were entitled to honorary certificates,” adds the same source.
