If Algeria has not yet integrated the BRICS it is only a postponement! Looking closely, Algeria is already in the BRICS. She is even an ally of infallible loyalty whose principles and resistance to adversity no longer need to be demonstrated. Its official admission will only be formal.
“On the spot” analyses tend to show that Algeria suffered this “refusal” following a kind of “veto” from India to “counter” China aimed at preventing it from having “more power” within the BRICS. Just that? It’s as if China and Russia don’t already have the economic, political, and military strength to fear anyone in the world. India too! This is too simplistic an argument! To speculate like this means that there would be serious divergences within the BRICS and therefore a weak BRICS with no future. Which goes in the same direction as the current anti-BRICS propaganda of the Atlanticists!
Many other commentators, especially on social networks, have reacted in a way that is more sentiment (pathos) than with reason and realism. They go so far as to question the seriousness of the “5” of the BRICS who, according to them, have admitted countries whose “loyalty” would be doubtful by arguing by citing their past actions and gestures; disavowing in a way the faithful countries which would have suffered a “failure”.
We therefore observe that everyone reacts according to “his” criteria and his feelings without even knowing what it is, how, why!

When there are friends (or new friends) jostling at the gate to be admitted, the first reaction is to tell the safe and reliable friends to postpone their application!
Algerians have this kind of behavior during parties when there are many guests. It is the relatives who serve themselves last.
Algeria with unfailing loyalty, whose GDP is higher than that of Ethiopia, can therefore wait because it does not pose any difficulty. This is also the case for other countries whose admission is neither questionable nor urgent.
Opponents can rant as much as they can, but the process remains irreversibly on the same anti-imperialist, anti-colonialist path.
In our opinion, this is neither a “refusal” nor a “failure” for the other candidates. It’s an adjournment for priority. In politics, there must be reasons that our reason ignores. There must be geostrategic and geopolitical reasons in their calculations. There must also be a “tactic” especially with what is happening in Niger and the forces present! We must also take into account the Great Road (known as the Silk Road) which passes through five integrated countries as a priority.
If we rely on the general criteria launched by Lavrov, Algeria is eligible along with others: “…The weight, authority, and position of the candidate country on the international scene, those who share the same vision, who believe in multipolarity, in the need for more democratic and more equitable international relations, who insist on the growth of the role of the global South in the mechanisms of global governance. The admission of Iran as the 1st priority – after 12 years of waiting to be admitted as a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) – must be analyzed in close relation with that of Saudi Arabia and the Emirates in the efforts that China (with Russia) has made to reconcile them and secure them against all adversity, in particular that of the USA and Israel. This “reconciliation” and “securing” are absolutely imperative and urgent to make it a factor of peace in the region, far from any threat, and this, in connection with the cardinal Palestinian question and the situation in Syria! Stability is feared by the USA and Israel to maintain their hegemony.
The admission of Egypt and Ethiopia, as a priority, is to be seen above all on the question of the exploitation of the Nile so that these two countries do not fall into a destructive and useless war benefiting Westerners who only want these situations in order to present themselves as “reconcilers” and “bringers of peace”, whose fatal consequences the world knows. The BRICS is the unexpected means, as an antidote, to prevent this predatory neo-colonialism, by making significant financial and human resources available to them, in parallel with its expertise in its management and operation. In this context, the BRICS countries are “good partners” for Africa, said Dilma Rousseff, President of the New Development Bank (NBD) of the BRICS, adding “that the bank would finance physical and digital infrastructure projects in Africa, as well as educational projects… The New Development Bank has the potential to lead projects that address the most pressing challenges of African countries.”
Argentina (like Egypt) – as a priority – is an important country in its continent which can, with Brazil, constitute a real force to counter the provocations of the USA. Argentina has always been the target of the USA (and the UK). Its choice to join the BRICS will consolidate its independence, especially as it is already a member of the G20 (with Saudi Arabia); which will also strengthen the position of BRICS in this forum for international economic cooperation.
That leaves Indonesia, Algeria, Bahrain, two countries in East and West Africa (unnamed), Mexico – BRICS friendly countries – possibly Nigeria and Thailand, Turkey… As we say “everything in its time”!
The BRICS seem to want the regions that are favorable to it to be secured as a priority so as not to fall under the caudine forks of a West that is always predatory and fond of chaos, wars, and injustices.
The urgency, with these new admissions, undoubtedly determined the strategies and tactics without influencing the finality and the objectives!
