A strong delegation of business leaders from the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA) began an economic mission to Montreal (Canada), as part of the celebration of the sixtieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between Algeria and this North American country, a CREA press release said on Monday.
The stay, which runs from July 8 to 14, “will be marked by numerous meetings with the country’s institutions and economic operators,” the employers’ organization said.
The Algerian delegation was welcomed on Monday at the new headquarters of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of Quebec, where they were presented with the COREX program, which aims to facilitate and promote trade between Quebec and the Northeastern United States.
“This program, from which CREA wishes to draw inspiration, allows young exporters to access resources and practical advice to better prepare for the act of exporting,” the same source said.
Furthermore, CREA and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of Quebec have agreed on a roadmap to establish connections between Algerian and Canadian companies, particularly in the agricultural, industrial, and mining sectors.
The occasion was also for a friendly meeting between the delegation and the members of the Algerian diaspora who work in the economic sector to build ties and celebrate together the 62nd anniversary of independence, said the CREA.
Also as part of his mission to Canada, a visit to the Technoparc de Montréal, a scientific and technological business park with an international vocation, is planned for Tuesday, as well as a research and commercial development site which brings together more than a hundred companies.
In partnership with Canadian employers, the Canada-Algeria Economic Development Council, CREA will organize an economic forum on Wednesday between Algerian and Canadian companies during which investment opportunities in Algeria will be presented.
The rest of the stay will be devoted to “bilateral meetings between the CREA and various economic institutions as well as with economic personalities who are members of the diaspora,” concludes the CREA press release.
