A Canadian Magazine Devotes a Special Feature to Tourism in Algeria

The Canadian magazine “Touristica international” devoted a special file to the destination Algeria, highlighting “a rich history, breathtaking landscapes and a heritage with ancestral roots”.

Under the title “Algeria, land of welcome and escape”, the magazine notes that it is a “one-of-a-kind experience”.

“We would have liked all the journalists and communicators in the field of tourist press to be with us to contemplate this marvelous spectacle”, immediately states Georges El Kathy, founding President of this magazine.

The magazine, which took part in the 21st edition of the International Tourism and Travel Fair (SITEV), held recently in Algiers, considers Algeria to be “the fruit of a rich history in addition to breathtaking landscapes and a tangible and intangible heritage steeped in art and history with ancestral roots”.

Highlighting the tourist potential available to Algeria, the author expressed a strong demand in terms of reservations for southern Algeria from tourists from many countries.

This growing demand for the Algerian destination “testifies to a positive dynamic which should continue throughout the year in the light of the new orientations advocated by the public authorities”, notes the same source.

In this edition, the magazine also highlighted the stay in the Algerian Sahara of a group of tourism professionals, particularly from Canada and other countries from Europe.

“Time stands still in the golden sands of the Sahara, in the South-West of Algeria”, says the group, which recounted the different stages of their journey in the desert, accompanied by photos and works by artists illustrating the beauty of the Saharan regions.

In addition to the beauty of the natural tourist sites that Algeria conceals, the hospitality of the Algerian people, as well as its typical gastronomy, as well as its hotel establishments, have been highly appreciated by these tourists.

Describing the dunes of the Algerian Sahara as “majestic”, the group of tourists was particularly pleased with its visit to Taghit (Bรฉchar) where its members were amazed by the immense dunes which they climbed to enjoy the magnificent landscape, same as the archaeological sites embellished with rock engravings.

The group of tourism professionals, who stayed at the Rym hotel overlooking the large palm grove of Bรฉni Abbรจs with beautiful dunes of the Western Erg, said they were overwhelmed by the old local Ksour they visited, testifying to the human presence in this millennial region.
