The production of fishery and aquaculture products in the governorate of Gabès increased during the first eight months of 2022, compared to the same period of the year former.
In fact, the production of king prawns has increased by 90%, while that of white prawns has increased by 13%, according to data from the Regional Commissariat of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries. east of bluefish fishing, it recorded an increase of 12%, to stand at the level of 5070 tonnes, at the end of August 2022, against 4539 tonnes during the same period of 2021.
It should be noted that the total fishing production in the ports under the governorate of Gabès reached 16,018 tonnes, during the first eight months of 2022, against 10,465 tonnes, at the end of August 2021, which represents an increase of 53%.
