African youth championships won by Tunisia

Tunisia was the strongest nation at the African Judo Championships for both juniors as cadets. Egypt followed in the medal table in the junior category, Algeria was second in the cadets. Nonetheless in both age division Tunisia seems to have the best generation of talents. But there was a big difference in men and women as in the women Tunisia was strong but Egypt has the stronger men with four gold medals.

Last weekend in Cairo the Egyptians boys impressed and Cairo will also host the 2018 African Championships. In 2005 Egypt hosted the World Championships. Since the African revolution judo disappeared at the IJF calendar but next year IJF awarded Tunis a Grand Prix after good showcases at African Opens and African Championships last year. The success is taken over by the young women.
